Tom Mesa, Co-Founder
Tom Mesa has had a four-decade career spanning both the public and private sectors. His fiscal prowess is evident in his banking career and steering the Harris County Sheriff's Office to consecutive balanced budgets in 2012 and 2013, a feat unprecedented in the agency's recent history.
A graduate of the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Tom's business insight was honed during his tenure as a senior banking officer at esteemed institutions such as Frost Bank and Chase Bank. His public career began under the stewardship of Mayor Bill White, leading the city's Economic Development Program. With the tenure of Mayor White expiring in 2010, Tom was invited and took the role of serving as the CFO of the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
Tom's versatility is evident in his certification as a Senior Quality Inspector in the oil and gas industry, where he represented prominent companies such as Shell and ExxonMobil. His contributions to various boards, including the Texas Real Estate Commission as one of the Commissioners and President of the World Chamber of Commerce which bear testament to his commitment to community development and service.
Tom and Ken, in their respective domains, embody sophistication, accomplishment, and a regal bearing. Their cohesive skills and complementary expertise make them a formidable force, respected and admired by all who have the privilege of working alongside them.
Ken Melancon, Co-Founder
Ken Melancon, a distinguished law enforcement officer, embarked on his illustrious career in 1988 upon graduating from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Academy. With an unyielding commitment to professional growth, he ascended through the ranks, culminating in his appointment as a Commander. His tenure at the FBI National Academy, class #216, further expanded his horizons, providing him with invaluable resources that he diligently applied to enhance the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
In 2013, as Captain, Ken led a press conference following the tragic Lone Star College shooting, his calm and composed demeanor a beacon of strength during a trying time. His leadership was recognized nationally, with CNN quoting him in their coverage of the event. After three decades of dedicated service, Ken retired from the Harris County Sheriff's Office, leaving behind an indelible legacy.
Ken's accomplishments are adorned with an array of prestigious awards and accreditations, including the State of Texas Law Enforcement Award of Valor, the Houston 100 Club Officer of the Year, and the Master's Peace Officers Certificate. His expertise, honed over four decades, has rendered him an invaluable asset to Galveston County, where he currently serves as Chief of Galveston County Constables Office, Precinct 4.
